Tattoo & Ceramics

Tattoo & Ceramics brings tattoo artists and ceramists together. They apply their expertise to decorating a number of dinner services.

Tattoo artists and ceramists share a lot of similarities. Both practise centuries-old crafts, and from Europe to Asia, tattoos and ceramics are highly regarded art forms. They have more in common than you think. Mistakes can happen in the blink of an eye and are difficult to correct, sometimes even impossible. In principle, tattoos last forever, and that applies to ceramics as well. Both are cherished for a lifetime.

Tattoo & Ceramics brings these two crafts together. Leading tattoo artists work with a new surface: porcelain. They apply their expertise to decorating a number of dinner services. The results will be on display at the Princessehof Ceramics Museum until 28 October 2018.
