For British artist Mike Nelson, Sensory Spaces 8 marks a return to ‘Amnesiac Shrine’, a set of successive artworks, together forming a category within his oeuvre.

For British artist Mike Nelson (Lougborough 1967), Sensory Spaces 8 marks a return to ‘Amnesiac Shrine’, a set of successive artworks, together forming a category within his oeuvre. The Amnesiacs are a fictional biker gang that Nelson created almost twenty years ago. Ordinary and fictional time are aligned in the work of Nelson. Seemingly objective concepts of time and space are subverted in his installation: they turn out to be inevitably coloured by our personal views.

Sensory Spaces 8 – Mike Nelson is on view until 5 June 2016.
