Peter Zegveld - Parable in motion

00:05:21 96 Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen
In this video Peter Zegveld talks of his experience at the Moving Movement exhibition and discusses the importance of play and imagination for his work.

Peter Zegveld is visual artist and theatre director. In Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, he is exhibiting ten examples of his visual art. Physical principles play an important role; light, sound, movement and gravity are inextricably linked to his work.

In 1961, when Zegveld was nine years old, he visited the exhibition Bewogen Beweging [Moving Movement] in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, and this left an indelible impression on him, particularly the free, unconventional character of the sculptures. This can be seen in the work he produced many years later. All his work moves and is witty and imaginative in character. Zegveld invites the visitor to the exhibition not only to view his work but also to experience it.
