Framing Sculpture

00:10:41 339 Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen
Travel through time with curators Peter van der Coelen and Francesco Stocchi and learn more about the past with the works of Medardo Rosso, Brancusi and Man Ray.

A work of art is a dream from the past, wrapped in beauty. Whoever is touched by it, travels back in time. Back to the end of the 19th century and the first decades of the twentieth. The beginning of the modern era. Three sculptors: Medardo Rosso, Constantin Brancusi and Man Ray. All three have photographed their sculptures. They wanted to record them for others but also be able to see them with fresh eyes themselves.

The film indicates how Rosso, Brancusi and Man Ray themselves would look through a lens at the works in the exhibition 'Framing Sculpture'.
