The starting point for Pot is never an idealistic imagination born concept. On the contrary, the designer is often inspired by reality. In experimenting with new materials or technologies, he discovers original new applications that lead to innovative designs.

When his creativity isn't sufficiently challenged, Pot heads over to his sewing machine to make masks. A project that started as an experiment from which he wanted to find out if he could make a carpet by stitching rope together.

Bertjan Pot was asked to make an exhibition of his work by Elle Inside Design. He called it 'Room with a view'. It includes products for big manufacturers, produced in large quantities, objects from his own studio and creations that perhaps will always remain unique pieces.

Creating volume while using minimal materials is what often characterizes the designs of Bertjan Pot.
