The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam presented the exhibition On the Move: Storytelling in Contemporary Photography and Graphic Design in 2015.
In this series of short videos you meet all 28 artists who's work can be seen in the exhibition. On the Move focuses on recent developments in photography and reveals the myriad ways in which artists and photographers build their narratives in dialogue with graphic designers.
The title On the Move refers to the journeys taken by many of the photographers in creating their projects, as well as the new directions in photography.
Robert Knoth (Rotterdam, NL, 1963) is photographer who lives and works in Borgharen. Antoinette de Jong (Tilburg, NL, 1964) is a journalist who works and lives in Borgharen. Selected for On the Move: the book and the audiovisual installation Poppy - Trails of Afghan Heroin (2012).
Olivier van Breugel (Breda, NL, 1989) and Simone Mudde (Oud-Beijerland, NL, 1989) are two artists and photographers who live and work in Amsterdam. Selected for On the Move: the photoseries Between Screens (2014).
Rob Hornstra (Borne, NL, 1975) is a photographer who lives in Utrecht. Arnold van Bruggen (Texel, NL, 1979) is a journalist who lives in Amsterdam. Selected for On the Move: the multimedia project The Sochi Project (2007-2014).
Witho Worms (Amersfoort, NL, 1959) is a photographer who lives and works in Amsterdam. Hans Gremmen (Langenboom, NL, 1976) is a graphic designer who works and lives in Amsterdam. Selected for On the Move: the photo project Cette Montagne C'est Moi (2012).
