The exhibition Submarine Wharf - XXXL Painting runs from 8 June till 29 September 2013. This is the fourth time in a row that Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen organizes a contemporary art exhibition in cooperation with the Port of Rotterdam.

XXXL Painting shows work by Klaas Kloosterboer, Chris Martin and Jim Shaw. They take three different positions in contemporary painting. Shaw uses figuration and tells politically tinged stories. Kloosterboer's works are abstract and allow philosophical questions. Martin paints abstract and figurative at the same time, he uses his energy to make each painting an explosion of colour and power.
