This is the very, very, very last episode of Boijmans TV. That’s why it’s called ‘The Finale’. And also because in this episode, Bregje entertains a mixed group of well-known faces - a cyclist, an art-lover, an economics student, a Black Peter - and discusses with them the self-portraits hanging in the exhibition ‘A Matter of Taste’. These are the 25 winners - from an incredible 1326 entries in response to Bregje’s call for self-portraits.
The self-portrait of cash-desk girl Mandy is also hanging there and Arie has naturally voted for Mandy. But will his vote be enough to help her get the first prize of 1000 Euros? The other entrants have also brought along friends and family to drum up support for their portrait. The museum visitors wait with the nominated competitors, filled with impatiences and champagne; waiting for Bregje will reveal all, while outside, the In-Bouncer is facing the snow and icy cold. But he has little to do on a day like this. Everybody wants to visit Boijmans, get a bit of culture, don’t they? And then the moment arrives..
With thanks to all those who have entered the competition ‘A Matter of Taste’, all the special groups, all the staff of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen and special thanks to all viewers of Boijmans TV.
